STRATAVENT
Underlayer
STRATAVENT is a membrane consisting of a compound based on elasto-plastomeric modified bitumen reinforced using a perforated glass fibre mat. The holes are 40 mm in diameter and are regularly distributed on the surface.
Usage
STRATAVENT, is intended for use as the first layer in a partially bonded built up roofing system. Where a substrate may contain moisture STRATAVENT is used as a pressure dispersal and venting layer against moisture vapour allowing quick expulsion through roof vents.
STRATAVENT may also be used on decks subject to dimensional variation and movement. In warm roof construction employing Rigid Urethane Foam (RUF) insulation boards, STRATAVENT may be used to vent any gases produced through contact with hot bitumen.

Applications Back to top
STRATAVENT is unrolled dry on the surface allowing a 50mm selvedge. After laying STRATAVENT, a bituminous modified system is applied with the help of a gas burner or a layer of hot oxidised bitumen.
In order to achieve optimum performance from the product, it is essential that the spotbonded points have a strong seal. For this reason, it is necessary to apply STRATAVENT on cleaned, dry and smooth surfaces.
Concrete and cementitious substrates should be clean, dry and primed using a bituminous primer.
Stop installation in rain, snow, heavy fog or if the air temperature falls below +5°C .
